Annex 5 has been replaced by PEFC ST 2001:2008 (PEFC Logo usage rules - requirements) which is applicable as of 1 January 2009. For the PEFC Logo users with PEFC Logo licence issued before the publication of the document, a one year transition applies (until 21 November 2009) from the requirements of Annex 5 to PEFC ST 2001:2008.
Objective
The objective of the document is to set up rules for PEFC logo use to assure the protection of ownership rights of the PEFC Logo and transparent and credible communication of claims connected with PEFC certification to avoid any misleading or misunderstanding of PEFC messages.
Scope
The document was adopted by the General Assembly of the PEFC Council on 22 November 2002 and amended on 31 October 2003, 29 October 2004, 17 June 2005, 28 October 2005, 27 October 2006 and 5 October 2007.
The Document PEFC Logo Use Rules establishes the rules and guidelines
- which specify who the owner and governor of the logo is
- who has the right to use the PEFC logo and trademark
- what kind of claims are included in the logo
- in what kind of on- and off-product communication the logo can be used
- what the specifications are as regards the reproduction of the PEFC logo in printed and published form
