The Cerflor - Brazilian Program of Forest Certification described in the downloadable documents below submitted by INMETRO was endorsed by the PEFC Council on 19 October 2005 with the condition that the CERFLOR Brazil uses the PEFC International Chain of Cusotdy standard (Annex 4 of the PEFC Technical Document) for the purposes of chain of custody certification.
The PEFC Council had appointed International Trade Strategies Pty Ltd - ITS Global as independent consultant to carry out the assessment of the Cerflor scheme against the PEFC Council requirements for forest certification schemes. The assessment report provided by the consultant created the basis for the PEFC Council's decision on the Cerflor certification scheme's formal endorsement.
