The Canadian Standard Association (CSA) SFM Program described in the downloadable documents below submitted by CSA International has undergone the PEFC endorsement process.
Based on stringent tendering procedures the PEFC Council appointed FORM International as independent consultant to carry out the assessment of the CSA SFM Program against the PEFC Council requirements for forest certification schemes. The consultant's assessment report formed the basis for the PEFC Council's decision on the CSA SFM Program's formal endorsement. The CSA forest certification Program was endorsed by the PEFC Council as meeting the PEFC Council requirements on 22 March 2005.
The CSA scheme uses the PEFC International Chain of Custody standard (Annex 4 of the PEFC Technical Document) for the purposes of chain of custody certification.
