| PEFC Council: The Belarusian Association of Forest Certification was established in July 2005 with the aim of promoting sustainable forest management in Belarus and integrating the Belarusian national forest certification in the international PEFC Council framework. It is currently being assessed for endorsement by PEFC, a process that requires – and welcomes - comments and feedback by the public in order to ensure full compliance with the organisation's requirements.

| PEFC Council: The PEFC Council has today published guidelines for the "Involvement of the Panel of Experts in the Endorsement of National Forest Certification Schemes". These guidelines further strengthen the transparency and robustness of the world's largest forest certification scheme and formalize the role of the peer-review process, which has been mandatory since October 2006.

PEFC Council: The Estonian Forest Certification Scheme has been endorsed by the PEFC Council. This decision was taken following a comprehensive standard setting process, public consultation periods that allowed numerous stakeholders to contribute to the development of the scheme and an independent assessment. This endorsement brings the number of PEFC endorsed national certification schemes to 24. At the same time the PEFC Council re-endorsed four national certification schemes, namely the Belgian Forest Certification Scheme, the Danish Forest Certification Scheme, the Swiss Q-label Forest Certification Scheme and the PEFC UK Certification Scheme for Sustainable Forest Management, after their rigourous assessment.
