Forest certification is widely recognized as one of the most useful tools in promoting the responsible management of the world’s forest. Yet with less than ten percent of the world’s forest certified collaboration of all actors – governments, business and civil society – and at all levels can only be a benefit to society as a whole. For this purpose, PEFC supports the Rio Forest Certification Declaration, a framework of globally applicable principles that all stakeholders are encourage to consider and integrate in their activities.
