History before PEFC
Russian National Forest Certification Council (RNCFC) has developed a national forest certification scheme called Russian National Voluntary Forest Certification System (FCR), which has been harmonized, among others, with laws of the Russian Federation, Pan European Operational Level Guidelines (PEOLG) and Technical Standards of PEFC.
In the year 2011, the Russian National Forest Certification Council adopted a resolution delegating its system management authorities to Non-Commercial Partnership “Centre for Development of Forest Certification” – PEFC Russia.
In the year 2013, Russian National Voluntary Forest Certification System got a new name PEFC RUSSIA and was re-registered by PEFC.
2013 - 2015 Non-Commercial Partnership “Centre for Development of Forest Certification” – PEFC Russia updated its system documents in accordance with the new PEFCC requirements and was re-endorsed in PEFC Int.
What are the benefits of being part of the PEFC alliance?
Only PEFC has all the attributes of an international system as it is an umbrella organization with registered national forest certification schemes, including PEFC Russia.
The national certification systems united under the aegis of PEFC promote sustainable forest management locally and globally.
Collaboration with PEFC provides improved national requirements for forest management and international PEFC recognition ensures access to environmentally sensitive markets.
