Online technical calibration training for accreditation bodies

Online technical calibration training for accreditation bodies

Accreditation body training

Accreditation body representatives were invited to register for our online technical calibration training taking place over three sessions in September.

In January 2020, we published the revised international standards for PEFC Chain of Custody (ST 2002), PEFC Trademarks (ST 2001) and Certification Body Requirements for Chain of Custody (ST 2003). These three standards entered into force on 14 February 2020, with a 24-month transition period.

In order to support accreditation bodies, we are offering technical calibration training to update your representatives on the key changes to these three standards. This technical calibration aims at providing you with the technical background necessary to conduct your accreditation tasks.

The details

The training will be held in three separate sessions, on 15, 22 and 28 of September. Representatives can either attend the morning sessions at 09:00 - 10:30 CEST or the afternoon sessions at 16:00 - 17:30 CEST. You are advised to attend all three sessions. Please note that this training is already fully booked.

The first session will provide general information on the transition and implementation of the 2020 standards, an introduction to the new training programmes, and key changes to the Certification Body Requirements for Chain of Custody standard (ST 2003).

The second session will focus on key changes to the Chain of Custody standard (ST 2002), including changes to the input-output process, the PEFC Due Diligence System (DDS) and the chain of custody methods. The final session will look at the PEFC Trademarks standard (ST 2001).

The technical calibration training is free of charge.

Accreditation bodies and the revised standards

With the entry into force of the three revised standards, certification bodies need to get trained and accredited before they can start to provide certification against these new versions. This means certification bodies will contact you shortly to ask you for accreditation.

By attending this technical calibration training, your assessment team will be up-to-date on the main changes to these three standards for the accreditation process.
