PEFC Chain of Custody auditor training
PEFC Chain of Custody auditors have to attend a PEFC recognized training at least once every two years. This training helps ensure your auditors are up-to-date with the PEFC Chain of Custody standard and our expectations, clarifications and interpretations. It also allows us to exchange experiences and to receive valuable feedback on the implementation of the standard.
Auditors can attend a training organized by PEFC International or a PEFC national member. Certification bodies can also train their own auditors, on the condition that this internal training is PEFC recognized. We provide this recognition through our PEFC Training Recognition Program (TRP).
PEFC organized training for individual auditors
We organize various trainings throughout the year for individual auditors. While we do offer training in person, usually together with one of our national members, we are increasingly holding our training online.
Our training is based on interactivity, practical examples, open question and answer sessions, and dedicated group work (in-person training only). This training enables auditors to benefit from the knowledge provided by our technical specialists, as well as from experience exchange between each other.
Please find a complete list of our upcoming trainings to the right, and you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Make sure you sign up to our newsletter to ensure you get all the latest training news and dates.
To take part in the online training session, the following conditions must be met:
- A minimum of five participants registered per session.
- Payment of the 500 CHF training fee before the session takes place. An invoice will be sent after registration.
Our national members also carry out auditor training. If you don't know the contact details for your national member, you can find them on our website. If there is not a national member in your country, you will need to do one of the trainings run by us.
PEFC recognition of certification body internal training
Through our PEFC Training Recognition Programme (TRP), certification bodies can get formal recognition of their internal PEFC Chain of Custody training programme and carry out internal trainings in compliance with PEFC's requirements.
The main advantage is that you do not have to plan how and when every individual auditor can attend a training organized by PEFC. Instead, you can decide yourself when to train them.
What you can expect
The TRP consists of a two-day in-person training session for the representative of your certification body. After this, you need to provide the content and process description of your internal PEFC training. Once we have positively verified the process description and training content, we award the PEFC recognition.
During the validity of the training recognition, to keep your auditors up-to-date, we organize regular update meetings to inform you on recent developments, the latest Q&As, interpretations and changes in our training materials.
See our information sheet for more detailed information, including what you can expect, the cost and our requirements.
How to participate
If your certification body would like to participate in the TRP and start to provide internal PEFC training to auditors, you can sign up for the next scheduled PEFC TRP event, or contact us at email@example.com.
