2018 PEFC Collaboration Fund: two days left to apply!

9 May 2018 Collaboration Fund

If you haven’t yet submitted your proposal to the 2018 PEFC Collaboration Fund make sure you do so soon – the deadline is just two days away on 11 May 2018.

We are looking for project proposals that pioneer the application of technology and innovation within forest certification.

This could be an ambitious solution to tackle critical issues like making certification more accessible for smallholders, an innovative approach for auditing and data collection, or a new way to engage consumers on sustainability.

Apply now!

PEFC members, both national members and international stakeholder members, are eligible to apply and must be the main project applicant. Project partners may include all kinds of organizations, including private and public sector organizations.

Proposals can request a contribution of up to 50,000 CHF and must have a maximum project timeframe of 3 years. The fund will support new and additional activities rather than existing, ongoing work and running costs. Grantees must provide evidence of at least 35% co-funding from other sources within the overall project budget.

Download the application form and apply by 11 May 2018!

Collaboration Fund: recent successes

Since we began the Fund in 2011, we have awarded over 800,000 Swiss Francs and leveraged co-funding of more than one million Swiss Francs to 36 projects.

In the last year, projects supported by our Fund have resulted in Hungary achieving PEFC endorsement, Macedonia, South Africa and Thailand submitting their national systems, and IFCC finalizing their pioneering requirements for community forest management.

Other projects continue to innovate: from landscape level certification in the USA to sustainable charcoal production from community forests in Cambodia.

Technology and Innovation Platform

While project proposals must be submitted by a PEFC member, there is a critical role for technology providers.

This is your chance to develop, test, or scale up innovative solutions within the context of forest certification, to interact with PEFC members and access funding, up to 50,000 CHF per proposal.

This is where our Technology and Innovation Platform comes in. Designed to connect potential partners, encouraging cooperation and facilitating ongoing discussions on the topic of technology and innovation in forest certification.
