Global public consultations are an integral part of PEFC's processes. We invite feedback on enquiry drafts of all our technical documentation during a four week global public consultation.

The following enquiry drafts were subject to a 60 day public consultation as part of the documentation development requirements process. Interested stakeholders submitted comments directly to PEFC.

PEFC Chain of Custody standard, PEFC ST 2002:2013

Description

As part of the PEFC Standard Revision Process, we  undertook a general review of the current Chain of Custody standard (PEFC ST 2002:2013). The objective of this revision is to identify the areas where PEFC Chain of Custody could be improved in terms of usability and outcome, and where we need to adapt the standard to better meet today’s stakeholder expectations and market realities.

Emission Data Transfer – Requirements, PEFC ST 200x:20xx, Enquiry Draft 1.0
Description

An attempt to outline requirements for a strictly voluntary mechanism for the transfer of GHG emission related data along the PEFC certified supply chain. This document was developed by ECOFYS, an independent consultant, with input from a Task Force established by PEFC, mainly comprising stakeholders concerned with the bioenergy sector.

Description

Tropical Natural Forest Management Standard
Description This document forms the basis of all forest management standards for tropical natural forests and establishes the environmental, social, and economic requirements that forest management must comply with to ensure the sustainable use of forest resources.

Social Requirements in Chain of Custody Certification
Description The proposal to expand the scope of Chain of Custody certification and include social, healthy and safety requirements is one of the outcomes of the 2009 global public consultation on the enquiry draft of the revised Chain of Custody standard.

Requirements for the Certification of Multiple Forest Holdings
Description Defines the requirements for group certification under a forest certification scheme. Group certification allows the certification of multiple forest holdings under one certificate, a concept that is considered the most effective option for small family- and community-owned forests to obtain certification.
