What you can do

What you can do

Caring for our forests is not something that we can do alone. Currently, only around 10% of the world’s forests are certified as sustainably managed, so there is a lot of work for us all to do. From making responsible choices when you go shopping, to getting involved in standard setting, or even giving your feedback on the work that we do, there are numerous ways that you can get involved and help protect our forests.

Look for the PEFC label

One of the simplest ways you can help protect our forests is to look for the PEFC label on products. When you see the PEFC label, it means that the forest-based material within the product comes from a PEFC-certified forest. This is a forest that is managed in line with the strictest environmental, social and economic requirements. A forest that will be around for generations to come.

Buy certified products

The best way to keep our forests is to use them, but we must use them sustainably. If there is one thing you can do, it is to buy PEFC-certified products. There is a huge range of PEFC-certified products available, and as we are international, you can find them all round the world, no matter where you live!
